YWCA Brooklyn Updates

For more than 20 years, YWCA Brooklyn has set aside one week in October as a Week Without Violence – a week to raise awareness and engage action to end the broad spectrum of violence – as part of a global movement with World YWCA to end violence against women and girls.

YWCA Brooklyn extends our deepest condolences to the family and friends of George “Big Floyd” Floyd and to the larger Minneapolis community. We are outraged by the continued violence, brutality and abuse of power by those in law enforcement towards people of color in this country.

On April 25, 2020, The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, New York Chapter celebrated its 63rd Annual New York Emmy Awards Gala where YWCA Brooklyn’s PSA “Your Voice. Your Vote.” was nominated for the Community/Public Service (PSAS): Single Spot award.
