YWCA Brooklyn Receives $20,000 from the Walmart Foundation at the New York Liberty Game

On Friday, August 20, YWCA Brooklyn and young women from our YW Brooklyn LEAD college access and leadership program were invited to the New York Liberty vs. Seattle Storm game at the Barclays Center for the home team's Back-to-School Celebration. During the third quarter, Brooklyn native and actress Nia Long and Walmart representatives presented our CEO & President Martha Kamber with a generous donation of $20,000 from the Walmart Foundation to support our mission-driven work to eliminate racism and empower women and girls.

We're proud and grateful to have the Walmart Foundation as a partner in our work to achieve our shared goals of creating economic opportunity and strengthening our local communities. Many thanks to the New York Liberty, Walmart and Nia Long for an amazing night shared by our staff and the young women we serve!
