YOUR VOICE. YOUR VOTE. Deadline to register in New York is October 9, 2020.
This year commemorates the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment, which granted voting right to some women. It took decades of effort after for women of color to have that same right. Today voter suppression is still present and has taken on various new forms over the years that disproportionately impact communities of color and the youth. YWCA Brooklyn is committed to supporting our community during this election year. Our voices are more important than ever before. We believe voting should be fair, safe and accessible.

We believe that the young people in our community possess the power to create positive change and have an unwavering commitment to do so. Their voices will determine our futures. Over the last few years, the YW Brooklyn LEADers in our College Access Program have lead voter registration efforts and played an active role in engaging with the community about the issues that matter to them.
