Support YWCA Brooklyn on #GivingTuesday, November 28!
Now, more than ever, solidarity in support of YWCA Brooklyn’s mission to eliminate racism, empower women, and promote peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all is essential. YWCA Brooklyn is the largest and oldest organization serving women and girls in the borough, with programs focusing on comprehensive college access and leadership development; affordable, safe, permanent housing for 300 women, many of whom are survivors of domestic violence; and a Social Justice Community Center in service to the Brooklyn community that is a nexus of social change.
This year, 20,000 community members have visited our building for panels, events, forums, meetings, workshops, speeches, film screenings, youth-led speak-outs, and performances.
This year, all of the young women in YW Brooklyn LEAD college access and leadership development program graduated in the top 15% of their high school class, and all were accepted to competitive colleges, several with full scholarships.
And this year, YWCA Brooklyn was recognized with the National Excellence Award for Women’s Empowerment at the YWCA USA National conference – a distinction that sets the organization’s young women’s leadership programming apart from 216 other YWCAs in 47 states serving more than 2 million women and girls.
Make your Giving Tuesday donation count for women and girls in Brooklyn.
We thank you for your commitment to our mission.
