This week the 7th Annual Father’s Day Pledge Against Violence took place at New York City Hall and brought together fathers and community members that are working to end and prevent violence.
YWCA Brooklyn co-sponsored the nationwide pledge that asked fathers to commit to ending violence in our homes, schools and communities and build healthy relationships. An end to domestic violence, intimate partner violence and violence within our community is a central focus of YWCA Brooklyn. Co-sponsoring community events that raise awareness and promote positive change are one of the ways YWCA Brooklyn advocates for women in Brooklyn.
The event took place on Thursday, June 9th and was presented by CONNECT and Council Member Laurie A. Cumbo.
