As strong supporters of women’s economic empowerment, YWCA Brooklyn was proud to wear green on the steps of city hall at the request of community partner PowHer for their 10th Annual New York Equal Pay Day Rally on April 12, 2016.
The cause for the green attire during this year’s rally was to celebrate recent wins in NYS:
- – adoption of a $15 minimum wage, and
- – the strongest paid family leave program in the nation – up to 12 weeks!
Strengthening and developing opportunities for low-income women of color and moving towards economic advancement is central to the mission of YWCA Brooklyn.
YWCA Brooklyn is proud to stand by our partner organizations that are taking the lead on these important issues.
