A Day to Speak Out Against Street Harassment

Want to stand up against harassment in your community?

The YWCA of Brooklyn co-sponsored the annual NYC Anti-Street Harassment Rally, as part of International Anti-Street Harassment Week. This year’s NYC Anti-Street Harassment Rally was held in Washington Square Park on April 11th, at 2pm.

The rally is organized each year by Hollaback, a Brooklyn-based organization that has been working since 2011 to combat street harassment by encouraging women to document incidents by snapping photos of perpetrators with their cell phones, and sharing their stories with the rest of the world.

The rally featured local activists and speakers and included a series of workshops for folks to learn more and take action against street harassment. It also featured Hollaback!’s famous 12 foot inflatable #catagainstcatcalling!
