The Black Power Mixtape 1967 – 1975 Film Screening

The YWCA of Brooklyn hosted a film screening of The Black Power Mixtape 1967 – 1975 for Black History Month on February 28, 2014. The Black Power Mixtape 1967 – 1975 for Black History Month is a film originally recorded at the end of the 1960’s. The focus of the film was the leaders of the Black Power movement. The film screening was followed by a panel discussion about the film. Dr. Brenda Greene (Chair of English Department and Executive Director of the Center for Black Literature at Medgar Evers College)moderated a panel comprised of distinguished guests that included Rachel C. Olden (National Director of Roosevelt Institute), the Honorable State Senator Kevin Parker (21st Senatorial District), and Muriel Tillinghast (Civil Rights Activist).
