Taking Time Out to Appreciate our Volunteers

On Thursday August 8th, the YWCA hosted a Wine and Cheese Volunteer Appreciation Reception to show appreciation for our volunteers. The energy in the room was contagious. Each volunteer in attendance received a certificate of Appreciation presented by Executive Director, Martha Kamber and Coordinator of Community Initiatives, Tonya Rapley. We would like to thank all volunteers who were present as well as those who could not make it.

Believe it or not, the YWCA of Brooklyn staff consists of just 8 full time employees! Operating our 150,000 square foot building and providing quality services to our 300 residents is a constant challenge. It is because of our talented and selfless volunteers we are able to offer programs to more than 6,000 individuals each year.

If you or someone you know is interested in volunteering your time and talents please contact Tonya Rapley, the Coordinator of Community Initiatives at 718-875-1190.
