In recognition of Veterans Day the YWCA partnered with the Service Women’s Action Network (SWAN) to host a screening and of Service followed by a panel discussion of experts. Service: When Women Come Marching Home is a gripping documentary that captures the challenges faced by female service members.
Attendees and panelists engaged in lively dialogue about personal experiences related to their service. The panel was moderated by Rachel Natelson, SWAN’s legal director. Panelist included Anu Bhawati, the Executive Director of SWAN; Patricia Lee-Stroter, co-producer of SERVICE; and Brigette McCoy, a veteran featured in the film. All of the proceeds from the screening were used to assist women veterans.
